I may still keep iPhoto running until no longer works for my photos already in iPhoto but I think it might be wiser to find something new for my new photos. I am not sure if splitting my photos into different libraries will make things more complicated or perhaps easier as I finally try to free all of my photos. I have over 35,000 photos plus a bunch more from when I was teaching on another drive not at my house right now. With the use of iPhoto Library Manager, I have split my photos into many different libraries. It is also probably a good time to make the change going forward with new photos I shoot. It doesn't really matter though since iPhoto at one point will no longer work.īecause I want to finally start shooting in Raw, I realize that I need to do something about my iPhoto situation. I am not as happy with the newer version as the exif data is very limited in this version (or at least I can no longer find the more detailed info). After having to upgrade to Yosemite due to another program, I was forced to upgrade to the latest iPhoto which was really a downgrade. I was just ready to upgrade to Aperture when Apple made the announcement that they would no longer support iPhoto and Aperture. ![]() I also use Photoshop Elements for more complex edits. I have used iPhoto since starting to shoot digital.
